Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church

Web Redesign

The Challenge

My church, Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist church, needed a website redesign. The new site needed to be responsive. This being my favorite place to go on Sunday, of course I did this project free of charge.

The Process

I had quite a bit of creative control but made sure I ran big decisions by the church management team. I researched similar church websites, and noted areas of improvement. One glaring issue was the responsiveness, and another was administrative things like more regular back ups.

The Solution

  • A new responsive website.
  • One of the most important items, events are now easily viewed on the front page.
  • Analytics to track usage and adjust website based on that in the future.

The church is changing leadership so the next step could be to redesign slightly based on the new leader’s needs and ideas. I am ready for this because I understand that websites change with organisation’s goals.

The Website Before The Redesign

The previous website was not responsive and was difficult to read on smaller devices.

Web Design, E-Book Design

The Challenge

Fitness Expert Orjiugo Oguguo needed a website to showcase her services and launch her upcoming e-book.

The Process

I worked with Orjiugo to get her requirements. It was important to understand what her current and future goals are, so that the website could be designed with that in mind. She also showed me websites that she was inspired by, and I worked to create the look she wanted.

The Solution

A fully responsive website which allows Orjiugo to share her recipes with her clients and followers and it provides a solid base upon which she can build in her online presence. She is yet to formally launch the website and her e-book.

Branding, Web Design

The Challenge

Zinkata.com is a fashion blog and run by popular Nigerian blogger, celebrity stylist and clothier Ezinne Chinkata.  The Zinkata online presence needed a branding revamp including:

  • a new logo
  • a new website
  • social media integration.

The blog was on initially hosted on Tumbler, and it needed to be moved to the WordPress platform for easier management and flexibility.

The Process

I first made sure I understood what Ezinne’s overall business plans were. The ZInkata brand also includes a bricks and mortar shop and the aim was to eventually open an online store and sell the clothes from the shop online. After I understood the business goals, the preffered style, I quickly got to work designing mock ups of the new website and logo. There were many discarded logo tries, and it took some trial and error to finally agree on what worked. Once the logo was designed I then moved to design the website. After this, the blog posts were easily imported into WordPress and formatted to be more SEO friendly.

The Solution

The resulting logo, website and social media assets presented a consistent brand. The redesign resulted in a 50% increase in social media followers and comments on the website. Ezinne was so happy with her website that we are moving to the next phase – adding an online shop.
